Built by commissioners, for commissioners.

Superfan Games started as a way to run our own pools without spreadsheets. It became the app we always wanted to play in.

How it started

In the middle of the pandemic, with no live sports and plenty of time, we were still running our office pools the old way: group chats, spreadsheets, and one person chasing everyone for picks. We figured we could build something better.

Danny and Gianfranco founded Superfan Games on that idea in 2020. Back then running a pool meant a shared spreadsheet somebody forgot to update, or one of the old apps that had barely changed in a decade and got harder to use every season. They wanted the thing they had always wished existed, so they built it from scratch, two friends and a long summer with no sports on. By late 2020 Alberto and Elvis had joined the adventure, and the four of us have kept pushing it forward, release after release, into the app you are using today.

The first season was Bet ’em, made for serious bettors who wanted a competitive version of the sportsbook: no house, just points, and everyone competing against each other. Pick ’em came next, then Confidence for the bowl season, and Brackets for March Madness, which later added the World Cup. Survivor followed, and finally Lineup for PGA Tour golf.

Six years in

The system has been alive every season since, across football, basketball, baseball, soccer, golf and Formula 1. Six games, Pick ’em, Bet ’em, Confidence, Survivor, Bracket and Lineup, in one app, and leagues that come back year after year because their commissioner finally gets to enjoy the season too.

We are still a small team, and we still play in our own leagues. That is why the Commissioner Center exists, why payments are tracked in the app, and why every rule a league wants to invent has a setting.

What is next

An Android app is on the way. More games and more sports are coming after that, and we keep adding what our leagues ask for. If you have an idea, a league you want to run, or a partnership in mind, talk to Gianfranco at gianfranco@superfan.games.

We love working with commissioners

Running a league with your friends? Tell us about it. If your rules are very much your own, the kind nobody else’s app understands, that is our favorite kind of league. We will take your idea, build it into the platform and host it, so you and your group can just play.

Need more than the picks? A weekly recap, standings emailed to the whole league, a special payout rule, a report for the office pool board: say so, and we will make it happen. Most of what is in the app today started as one commissioner asking for it.
